Who I Am

Welcome to my blog!

I’ve written five books ranging from vampire fiction to magi-punk (WWI tech with magic), fantasy, and science fiction. All told, I’ve written over 600,000 words which could look like a great accomplishment or very little depending on where you’re at.

Writing is a journey. From the first time you try it, to getting done with a novel, to learning to revise, to querying or self-publishing, to marketing, to actually finding success, it’s a long process.

This blog will be about that journey: tips and tricks I’ve found that work, tips on motivation, pertinent book reviews, and anything I think is useful. The doodles are for entertainment but also to help with learning. For me as a visual learner, I remember lessons far quicker by looking at cartoons rather than reading piles of notes. And drawings are fun! So hopefully they’ll be useful to you as well.

Therein Lies the Rub Who I’m Writing To
Mostly I’m writing to new and upcoming authors since I can’t speak much to the “I’ve already been published,” side. A lot of these posts are focused on staying motivated since writing can be one of the most difficult and lonely artistic endeavors.

I’ll be putting up the main points of each post at the beginning for ease of learning.

Goals Looking Forward
Essentially, I want to help provide a fun/entertaining environment for upcoming authors. Much of my blog will have a very different voice than what I normally use in my actual writing. Other goals include making cartoons, shamelessly self-promoting, and practicing writing and publishing, even if it’s just through blog posts. That and by sharing, I also tend to solidify what I’ve learned.
